Dra dit pepparn växer is a song written by Ulf Nordquist, and originally recorded by Sten & Stanley on the 1985 album Musik, dans & party.[1] The song's I person blames the you-person for travelling around Sweden while having an affair with a secret partner, the places the you-person is blamed for having anyother partner is in Landskrona, Karlskrona, Växjö, Lund and Östersund. The song was also recorded in English, as "Don't Play a Sad Song after Midnight", and was released as a single, and won the "Castlebar Song Contest" of that year.[2]

The song was tested for Svensktoppen, where it stayed for 10 weeks during the period of 27 October- 29 December 1985,[3] with two second places as highest placing. When the program returned after New Year in early 1986 the song had been knocked out from the chart.[4]

The Sweden-geographical infidelity-theme returned in 1992 with Grönwalls Du ringde från Flen.
