Dr. Kildare Goes Home is a 1940 drama film directed by Harold S. Bucquet, starring Lew Ayres, Lionel Barrymore and Laraine Day. This was the fifth in the MGM series of nine Dr. Kildare, from 1938-1942 with Lew Ayres as Dr. Kildare. This was the sixth of a total of ten Dr. Kildare pictures; the first of which starred Joel McCrea as Kildare.
Plot summary
Doctor James Kildare (Lew Ayres), just appointed resident assistant at the Byng State Hospital by his mentor Dr. Leonard Gillespie (Lionel Barrymore), is forced to return to his hometown when his general-practitioner father (Samuel S. Hinds) collapses from overwork.[1]
