Statistics

Donny White is a former college athletics administrator and former coach in the United States. He was the athletic director at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), a position he held since 1998. White announced his retirement on May 13, 2013.[1] He also was active as a coach at the school, and previously was a cadet-athlete at VMI.

Playing career

White played college football and baseball at the Virginia Military Institute Keydets located in Lexington, Virginia. He co-captained the 1964 football team and was selected All-Southern Conference in baseball for three consecutive years as a shortstop. He was inducted into the VMI Sports Hall of Fame in 1975.

Coaching career

Baseball

White was named the head baseball coach at VMI in 1982 and led the program for six years. In 1982, he was named Southern Conference Co-Coach of the Year for his efforts with the program.[2]

Football

White was the 28th head football coach for VMI and he held that position for the 1998 season. His career coaching record at VMI was 0 wins, 1 loss, and 0 ties. This ranks him 30th at VMI in total wins and 30th at VMI in winning percentage.[3]

White's coaching career of one game was simply finishing out the season of previous VMI coach Ted Cain, who was relieved of his duties after a 19 start for the season.[4]
