Donaldson Report

The Donaldson Report (formally titled the "Interim Report on the Crash of TWA Flight 800 and the Actions of the NTSB and the FBI") was the result of an independent investigation into the crash of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. The report was prepared by retired United States Navy Commander William S. Donaldson III, in cooperation with the Associated Retired Aviation Professionals, who sought to question the official investigation into the crash conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The report was released on July 17, 1998 and submitted to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Subcommittee on Aviation.

In 2001, a letter from the Department of Justice to ARAP stated that "no credible evidence" was found to substantiate allegations federal agencies "were engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct justice" in their investigation of TWA Flight 800.
