Don Basile is an entrepreneur with experience in the technology and venture capital fields. He currently serves as the CEO of BizzBlizz.

Education

Basile earned an MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1988 and 1993.[1]

Career

After graduating, Basile took a position as Vice President of Lenfest Capital, an investment arm of Lenfest Group. He then went on to work as Director of Operations and Partnerships at Remarq, providing cloud services to Excite, eBay, Lycos, Amazon and other internet brands.[2]

Basile spent a year as Senior Director of Netfish, a leader in XML commerce[3] before joining Raza Foundries, where he was managing director for the company's venture capital endeavors.

Basile branched out into the medical industry, serving as Vice President of UnitedHealth Group. Under his tenure, United's commercial software division grew from $560M to $1.2B.[4]

Basile later became Chairman of the Board at Fusion-io.[5] Basile also convinced Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak to come on as chief scientist.[6] In his first year as CEO, the company achieved over $10M in sales and earned a Red Herring Global 100 award.[7][8] After leading Fusion-io through A and B rounds of funding, Basile transitioned to Violin Memory, assuming position of CEO. After more than four years of collaboration, Violin and Basile parted ways on unfavorable terms and Basile was terminated by the board of directors.[9][10][11]

Basile is currently the CEO of BizzBlizz, a marketing software platform provider.[12][13]
