Domke is a brand of professional carrying bags and vests for cameras, lenses, laptops and imaging accessories. It has been owned by Tiffen since 1999 with corporate headquarters in Hauppauge, New York.[1]
History of the company
Domke was founded in 1976 by the photojournalist Jim Domke. Most of its products are made in the USA, though they may include some components of foreign origin.
The company was launched with its first bag, the Domke F-2, designed for photojournalists, which is still manufactured today. It was followed by a smaller version, the Domke F-3.
The company grew and was sold to Saunders in 1990, and then acquired by Tiffen in 1999. The brand's bags and accessories often appear in movies showing photojournalists, for example the 2010 movie The Bang Bang Club.
