Dogar

Dogar (Urdu: ڈوگر) is a community found mainly in the Punjab state of Pakistan and in the Uttar Pradesh state in India. Dogars are agricultural people and are called Zamindar. Majority of Dogars in Pakistan are Muslims, whereas in India they are mainly of Hindu faith. Prior to the Partition of India in 1947, there were several Muslim Dogar communities in East Punjab, who were settled in Hoshiarpur District, Firozpur District, Hissar, Rohtak and Karnal districts, and in Patiala State (Daska). These communities migrated to Pakistan en masse onditions during the partition.
