Divyaalakshmi
Divyaalakshmi (born 26 January 1985 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand) is an Indian Television Actress, Dancer, Writer and a Social activist. She was most recently seen as Rani Sajjabai, second mother of Pratap on SonyTV's Bharat Ka Veer Putra-Maharana Pratap and as Bulbul, Protagonist in LifeOK's Hum ne li hai... Shapath.
Personal life
Divyaalakshmi, born in a Punjabi Khatri family on 26/1/1985 in Dehradun. She has an elder Brother Anmol, Colonel, in the Indian Army. She did her schooling from St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun. She holds a dual Master's Degree in Economics and Business Administration and is currently pursuing Master's in Law.
She is an Art of Living Balchetna Teacher and a Blesser. She became spiritual in her teenage. She was the first individual from her whole family to follow a spiritual discipline. Now her mother Chandrika Devi and her close friends also follow The Art of living. She is often seen in the Art of Living Ashram in Bangalore. She has begun a Happiness meditation centre in Kandivali, Mumbai.
Divyaalakshmi has taken a formal training in Belly Dance and Contemporary style dance and is currently learning Odissi Classical dance and Hindustani Classical vocal. She started performing on stage at the age of 2.
She began writing at a very small age, she first wrote a sonnet at the age of 5 and at 8, she began writing stories. She now write concepts. She loves reading and is well versed with Bhagwad Gita, Ashtavakra Gita, Vedas and Upanishads.
Although inclined towards Spirituality and Ancient literature, She is a fashionista, Independent and Modern with high moral standards. Divyaa is a travel nomad, loves exploring new places. She has voyaged a great deal all alone.
Career
Divyaalakshmi started her career as a Human Resource Executive in a recruitment firm in Mumbai yet quit her job for acting, During her struggle period she also gave her voice for an animation show. She began her acting career in the year 2004 with a few episodic shows and a dozen of TV commercials before she signed Simply Sapney on Zee Next.
She was a popular face of the comedy sitcom FIR on Sabtv. She has done 5 more shows on Sabtv as cameos. Divyaalakshmi later signed an Indian soap opera Drama 'Jyoti' on Imagine TV where she was seen as Meenal Rathore in a Negative role. Divya was seen in Kunal Kohli productions Film Break K Baad as Preeti Gulati in 2010. She has additionally been a well known face of Malayalam advertising industry.
Divyaalakshmi then took a sabbatical of 2 years and returned with LifeOk's Hum ne li hai... Shapath as Bulbul. She played the part of a vivacious young Delhi girl, venture from a con girl to a teacher. Kavi- Bulbul was a very popular jodi. Divyaalakshmi was last seen as Rani Sajjabai Solankini in Sony TV's Bharat ka veer putra- Maharana Pratap.[1] Second mother of Pratap and biological mother of Shakti singh and Vikram Dev, Sajjabai was the most adored and the cutest character in the show. She quit both on air running shows in 2014 due to creative issues.
She is punctual to the T.
She later went to China to participate in an International Dance Festival.
