Divaldo Alves is an Angolan-Portuguese football manager.[1] He is a UEFA Pro Licence holder.[2]

A former youth coach and scout at S.L. Benfica also youth coach at Atletico do Cacem and Encarnacao Olivais Senior team,[3][4] Alves success came in Indonesia where he first worked as assistant coach of PSMS Medan in 2009, as the club qualified to the quarter finals of the 2009 AFC Cup and semi-finals of 2009 Copa Indonesia.[5] Alves later coached Persebaya 1927 to second place in the 2011-12 Indonesia Premier League he holds the national record with 10 consecutive matches with 2 draws and 8 wins.[6] He also coached Persijap Jepara and Minangkabau F.C. staying at the table 3 points from the second position with low profile quality players, Minangkabau FC was a club named PSP Padang acting in 3rd national in indonésia. Alves is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, Malayo, English, Spanish, Portuguese.

In early 2013 Alves was unveiled as the coach of the Malaysia Super League club Negeri Sembilan FA.[7] However he was relieved from his job in May 2013, before end of season.

Alves was appointed as Technical Adviser of Perak FA in June 2014, succeeding Karl-Heinz Weigang. His role is to work together with head coach Abu Bakar Fadzim in handling the Perak's first team squad.[8][9] He held this position until Vjeran Simunic replaced both him and Abu Bakar as technical adviser and head coach on September 2014.

In April 2015 he became the head coach of a Lithuanian team FK Kruoja Pakruojis. On May 1st, 2015 he was removed from the head coach's position, when the investigation of suspicions match between FK Kruoja Pakruojis and FK Sūduva Marijampolė was started.
