Discovering Columbus

Discovering Columbus is an installation piece created by the Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi (b. 1960), which opened to the general public on September 20, 2012.[1]

The works consists of a temporary penthouse apartment surrounding Gaetano Russo's statue of Christopher Columbus which is located in the center of Columbus Circle in New York, United States. It was opened to the public on September 20, 2012 and will be exhibited until November 18, 2012. After the exhibition period, the piece will be dissembled and the statue of Columbus restored.
