Diospyros walkeri, is a tree in the Ebony family, endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
ovate to oblong, tapering base, acuminate apex, lateral veins about 6-8 pairs, obscure reticulate intercostals.
Trunk
Bark - finely fissured strips, black; Immature Bark - straw-yellow; exudate yellow turning deep yellow; Wood - white; branchlets densely tomentose.
Flowers
yellow or white; I- male, red pubescent cymes; Inflorescence - female, solitary.
Fruits
yellowish, depressed globose; calyx thick with thin rim.
Ecology
rain forest understory of wet zone.
