ovate-lanceolate to elliptic, base tapered, pointed apex, widely spaced, prominent, arched lateral veins with intermediaries between.

Trunk

Bark - finely fissured, black; Immature Bark - reddish.

Flowers

yellow, sessile to subsessile between 2 small bracteoles; I- male dense axillary clusters; female flowers axillary, solitary.

Fruits

ellipsoid-ovoid, densely coppery hairy; calyx lobes broad with thick reflexed tips.

Ecology

rain forest understory, along waterways of wet zone.
