Dimitrios "Dimitris" Diamantakos (Greek: Δημήτρης Διαμαντάκος, born 5 March 1993 in Piraeus) is a Greek footballer who currently plays for Superleague Greece club Olympiacos as a forward. He is often referred to as "the Spartan".
Club career
Olympiacos
Diamantakos started his career at Atromitos Piraeus, from which he moved to the youth teams of Olympiacos in 2009.[1]
Loan spells
In 2012, he moved to Superleague side Panionios on loan.[2] In January 2013 he joined Aris FC on loan.[3] He made 13 appearances without scoring any goal. In June 2013 he joined Ergotelis on loan.[4] He did his best season so far by scoring 9 goals in 25 appearances.
Back to Olympiacos
Diamantakos made his debut on 23 August 2014 with Olympiacos in Superleague on a home game against Niki Volos and managed to score his first goal in 28th minute with a close range strike.[5][6]
International career
Diamantakos is a Maniot. He was a member of the Greek under-19 squad that earned second place in the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship.[7]
