Dr. rer. pol. Dietrich Koch[Note 1] (8 April 1916 – 22 November 2002) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant der Reserve in the Wehrmacht during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Dietrich Koch was severely wounded in December 1941 and was released from the Wehrmacht in December 1943.
