Diego Flores (born in 1982 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain) is an Argentine chess Grandmaster. His current ranking is 2597 in the ELO[1] and he plays in the 3rd board when representing his country. He gained his Grandmaster (GM) title in 2008.

Diego is ranked 406 in the world ranking, among active players, and 452 overall.[1]

He won the Argentine Chess Championship in 2005, 2009, 2012 and 2013, and also played in 2006 and 2010 Chess Olympiads representing his country. In the past year Flores also won the II Magistral Marcel Duchamp, an event which took place in the City of Buenos Aires. In 2010 he won the Konex Award - Diploma of Merit as one of the top 5 chess players of the decade in Argentina.[2]

He's also the chess columnist in the Argentine daily Democracia (Democracy).
