Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA (DETNOR) is an oil exploration and development company focusing petroleum resources on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.[1] Det Norske is present all over Norway. Headquarters is in Trondheim, and there are additional offices in Stavanger, Oslo and Harstad. The company employs a staff of more than 190 (as of early 2012). Det Norske saw a sharp increase in resources in 2011.[2]
The company named Det Norske Oljeselskap (now DNO International) was founded in 1971. In 2007, current Det Norske Oljeselskap was created by merger of a Norwegian oil company Petra ASA and the Norwegian interests of DNO. In 2009, a Norwegian oil company Aker Exploration merged with Det Norske Oljeselskap.
On May 21, 2013, the company announced it produced first oil as operator, from the Jette field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
On February 8, 2015, Det norske warned investors that it will book a non cash impairment between $320 million to $340 million in the fourth quarter of 2014.[3]
