Sir William Derrick Capper, QPM (date of birth unknown, died 20 March 1976) was a chief constable of West Midlands Police from 1 April 1974,[1] when the force was formed by amalgamation, until his retirement on 30 June 1975.[2] He was succeeded by Lord Philip Knights
He studied at Hendon Police College 1937-1939 and was Chief Constable of Birmingham City Police from 1963-1974.[3]
