Deron John Miller (born May 21, 1976) is the frontman/guitarist for CKY (Camp Kill Yourself). In 2006, he formed World Under Blood for which he is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter.

Band history

In 1994 Miller met future bandmate Jess Margera. Miller was in the process of breaking up with his band This End Up, and Margera had told Miller that he could play drums. Miller and Margera formed the band Foreign Objects. After releasing a 5-Track EP, Miller and Margera started a new band called Oil (stylized as OiL.) The band went to a studio to record a demo when they met Chad I. Ginsburg. After hearing a demo of Disengage The Simulator, Ginsberg immediately wanted to be part of the band.

In 1998, the band dropped the name Oil and replaced it with Camp Kill Yourself, proposed by Miller as "the new band name, the new direction, [and] the new movement," thus dropping their "mainstream ... pop appeal" approach.[1] The name was later changed to "CKY" which was a much easier title for fans to chant during concerts.

Miller is contributing to James Murphy's Death tribute album and initially thought of the idea of the tribute album. His four main inspirations are Chuck Schuldiner of Death, James Murphy of Death, James Hetfield of Metallica, and Paul Stanley of the band Kiss.

In 2013, Miller released his first solo album called Acoustified!. It features acoustic renditions of CKY, Oil, and Foreign Objects. It was released December 9th, 2013 and December 11, for iTtunes and Amazon. It was re-released with 8 new tracks on September 2, 2014. The album was funded through Indiegogo after a Kickstarter campaign for an album of brand new music was largely unsuccessful.

Personal life

Deron was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and spent his childhood in Marlton, New Jersey. He has appeared with the CKY Crew in many of Bam Margera's videos, including Landspeed: CKY, CKY2K, CKY3, CKY4, the CKY Documentary, and Haggard: The Movie. He can also be seen in a cameo in the film, Return to Sleepaway Camp, which was released on November 4, 2008. Miller married the film's star, Felissa Rose, on October 17, 2004. The couple reside in California with their three children, Bianca Rose (Born June 8, 2005), Lola Marue (Born March 4, 2007), and Thomas Carver (Born August 29, 2009). The couple are featured in the 2009 horror-comedy Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre and its sequel, Caesar and Otto's Deadly XMas.
