Dermott Downs is an American television director, actor, producer and cinematographer.

He is well known for his work on the NBC crime series Chase and for U.S. remake of The Tomorrow People.

Career

Downs first started his career as a child actor; appearing in such films as The Morning After, Escape to Witch Mountain, and Freaky Friday.[1]

In his adulthood, he sieged to cinematography; working on films Secret Lies and Takedown, and television series CSI: Miami, CSI: New York and Justice, among others.[1][2]

He later began a career in directing. First helming an episode of a series he was doing photography work on; Justice. Since then he has directed installments of Close to Home, K-Ville, Dark Blue, Nikita, Common Law, Gotham, Criminal Minds, The Flash and Arrow.[1][2]

Chase

In 2010, Downs became a producer and director on the NBC series Chase. Ultimately, he helmed 6 episodes of the 18-episode first season.[1][2]

The Tomorrow People

In summer 2013, he joined The CW series The Tomorrow People, as a director of photography and director. During the course of the series' one-season run he directed 4 installments ("Sitting Ducks", "Superhero", "Smoke and Mirrors", "Kill Switch").[1][2]
