Derek Lyons born (25 September 1958) is a British film extra who appeared as infrequent character PC Craig Lovell in ten episodes of The Bill, though was uncredited in eight of those episodes. He also worked as an uncredited extra in feature films including Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, four James Bond movies, The Shining, Krull and numerous others.[1]

In 2014, Derek took part in the documentary 'Elstree 1976'.[2] which documents the way in which Star Wars has changed the lives of the supporting artists involved.

He currently tours on the convention circuit.

Charity Work

Derek Lyons is connected to the fundraising initiative Celebs4Kids, founded by actor Adrian Paul[3] in which numerous personalities donate photographs and autographs to fans in return for a donation. Other contributors include George Lazenby, Derek Jacobi and Stan Lee.[4]

The charity aims to provide help to children in underprivileged circumstances.[5]
