Derek Klena (born October 3, 1991) is an American actor and singer. He has appeared on Broadway in Wicked as Fiyero and in The Bridges of Madison County as Michael.[1] For his role as Eddie Birdlace in Off-Broadway's Dogfight, where he starred alongside Lindsay Mendez, he was nominated for the 2012 Clive Barnes Award.[2] He also appeared in the 2012 Off-Broadway revival of the musical version of Stephen King's Carrie, playing Tommy Ross.[3]
Klena frequently collaborates with fellow Broadway actor Lindsay Mendez, with whom he shares a strong friendship. The pair, popularly known as "Klendez", have appeared alongside each other in Dogfight as Eddie Birdlace and Rose Fenny, Wicked as Elphaba and Fiyero, and frequently perform together at the Broadway supper club 54 Below.[4]
