Denis Matthew Lowney
Denis Matthew Lowney (June 1, 1863 – August 13, 1918) served as an American Roman Catholic bishop.
Biography
Born in Castletown-Bar Haven, Ireland, Lowney was ordained a priest on December 17, 1887.
On August 24, 1917, he was named titular bishop of Hadrianopolis in Honoraide and auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence and was consecrated on October 23, 1917.
Bishop Lowney died while still in office.[1]
