Denis Breen

Denis Breen is a fictional character in James Joyce's novel Ulysses. He is the husband of Josie Breen and is a figure of fun. A person unknown sent him a postard with "U.p: up" written on it and he seeks to take a libel action for ten thousand pounds. Leopold Bloom states that Josie's marriage to Denis was a case of "beauty and the beast".[1][2]
