Democracy & Nature was a theoretical academic journal established in 1992 by Takis Fotopoulos as Society and Nature, obtaining its later name in 1995.[1] Four volumes of three issues each were released by Aigis Publications from 1992 to 1999.[2] From 1999 to 2003, five more volumes were released by Taylor & Francis.[3] Publication ceased at the end of 2003, after which Fotopoulos established a new journal, The International Journal of Inclusive Democracy.[4]
Aims
Democracy & Nature 's stated aim was to be a forum for a "new conception of democracy", given the name Inclusive Democracy in 1997. While maintaining that core function, the journal expanded to include coverage of a spectrum of radical alternative views.[5]

The journal organized each issue around a central theme, which included themes like:
Society and Nature (1992 – 1995)
- “The Philosophy of Ecology” (Vol.1, No.2, 1992) with contributions by Takis Fotopoulos, Marcello Cini, John Clark, Murray Bookchin, Grover Foley, Henryk Skolimowski, Arne Naess, Robyn Eckersley, James O’Connor, Cornelius Castoriadis and Ward Churchill.
- “Nationalism and the new Word Order” (Vol.2, No.2, 1994) with contributions by Noam Chomsky, Murray Bookchin, Takis Fotopoulos, Cornelius Castoriadis, Carl Boggs, Janet Biehl, David Hyndman and Levita Duhaylungsod.
- "The Expansion of the South" (Vol.3, No.1, 1995), with contributions by Andre Gunder Frank, Ted Trainer, Takis Fotopoulos, E.G. Vallianatos, Daniel Chodorkoff and Catherine Pal.

- And in the last issue that published under the name Democracy & Nature (Vol.9, No.3, 2003) (before proceed with a new name The International Journal of Inclusive Democracy which is published since then and is dedicated to the Inclusive Democracy Project), “The Inclusive Democracy Project: Six Years On” with contributions by Michael Levin, Arran Gare, David Freeman, Serge Latouche, Jean-Claude Richard, Rafael Sposito, Guido Galafassi, Takis Fotopoulos and Jorge Camil.
