Delphix is a Menlo Park, CA-based software company that develops software for simplifying the building, testing, and upgrading of applications built on relational databases.[1][2] Delphix is known for developing systems that virtualize data in databases and speed up the development of software applications. In 2013 the Delphix Agile Data Platform became an SAP Endorsed Business Solution.[3] The company’s clients include Facebook, Comcast, Wind River, and Informatica.[2][4] The company’s CEO is Jedidiah Yueh.

History

Delphix was founded in 2008 by Jedidiah Yueh.[5] Before founding Delphix, Yueh founded Avamar, a data de-duplication company.[6][7] Avamar was sold to EMC in 2006 for $165 million.[7][8]

In 2009, Delphix received $8.5 million in Series A Funding from Greylock Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company was awarded $11 million in Series B Funding in 2010, also from Greylock and Lightspeed. In 2012, Delphix received $25 million in Series C Funding from Jafco Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Summit Partners, and Battery Ventures.[9]

Product

Delphix enables more efficient data management, and making application development faster and more efficient is the company’s core business.[2] The software allows clients to virtualize data in relational databases, allowing them to complete application projects at lower costs and 20–80% ahead of schedule.[1][2][5][10][11]

Clients’ existing database management systems, such as Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server, remain in place, with Delphix’ software running alongside them. The software is generally deployed on-premise.[1][9]
