Delnaaz Irani (born 4 September 1972) is an Indian actress of Irani origin. She has acted in both Bollywood movies and Hindi television serials. She has also acted in over twenty-five plays. Her elder brother Paurus Irani is a former model and medical doctor from Grant Medical College,J.J. Hospital. Mumbai.Her younger brother Bhakhtiyar Irani is a television actor.
Delnaaz met TV actor, Rajev Paul on the sets of Parivartan, a popular soap in 1993. The couple later married but got separated in 2010 after 14 years of marriage, the two got divorced in 2012. Delnaaz cited infidelity on Rajev's part as the cause for the divorce, however, Rajev denied the allegation. "We had decided never to go public with what had transpired behind closed doors. But now, I guess I need to speak up. In her interview, she (Delnaaz) hinted at me not being a faithful husband. But I never cheated on Dilnaaz," Rajev said. He did, however, blame himself for the divorce stating that "Honestly, it all began when my career was going through a rough patch. I was depressed and even contemplated suicide,". The two of them were participants on the reality TV series Bigg Boss 6.[1][2]
Career
Delnaaz debuted in Baba Sehgal's music video "Ga Ga Ga Gori Gori" in early 90's. She later acted in several comic roles in Bollywood movies, item numbers, baarat. She has had one major blockbuster with Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and worked on several big projects. She has worked with some of the biggest names in Bollywood including Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. She participated in Nach Baliye, a reality dance show with her ex-husband, Rajiv Paul.[3] She has become a popular television actress having starred in several serials such as Yes Boss and Baltiwalla House No. 49. She was the Contestant in Bigg Boss 6 and got evicted on 93rd day. She came 6th in the race for the title, being evicted in a dramatic midnight eviction.
