Deglur is a town and a municipal council in Nanded district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is often written as Degloor in the local area. It is the largest taluka of Nanded.
It is near the point where Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka boundaries meet. The Andhra Pradesh - Maharashtra state boundary is merely one and half a kilometer away from the town center and Karnataka state boundary is around 20 km. The town is situated on the banks of the river Lendi. Deglur has been well known as a market place from ancient years. Main occupation of most of the population here is agriculture in which they mostly grow Sugarcane, Cotton , Grains , Bananas. It is known for its cloth market, gold jewelry and agricultural product from Nizam's empire. Nearby places are the villages Taakli on north (Deglur - Nanded State Highway), Kawalgaon on West-South (Deglur - Udgir state highway 168) and Mirzapur on East-South (Deglur - Madnoor state highway 104).
Demographics
As of 2011 India census,[1] Deglur had a population of 54,493. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Deglur has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73% and, female literacy is 55%. In Deglur, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. In Degur city usually three languages are spoken, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu due the borders of the states respectively.
Attractions
In the Degloor region there is place called 'Hottal' where you will find Hemadpanthi temple, which is tourist attraction. In city there is Dhundamaharaj's Math which is very famous.
