Deer Creek Broadcasting

Deer Creek Broadcasting is a small-market radio broadcast company based in Chico, California. Its general manager is longtime on-air personality and former KHSL-TV general manager Dino Corbin.[1] Deer Creek owns six Chico radio stations, KPAY NewsTalk 1290, KVXX Fox Sports Radio 101.7, KHSL-FM 103.5 "The Blaze", KMXI FM Mix 95.1 and KPYV AM Fox Sports Radio 1340.

History

KMXI, KPAY, and KHSL were purchased by McCoy Broadcasting more than 10 years ago, under the management of Dave Brower. It was during this time that all the radio stations in the Radio Group, went to, a DOS based, Scott Studio's Automation system. This system remained until 2001, when McCoy sold the group to Clear Channel Communications under the management of Dino Corbin. Under the Management of Dino Corbin and Clear Channel, all studio systems and automation systems were upgraded. The studios received new mixing boards and a complete re-wire. The automation system was upgraded to a Prophet Wizard CFI system. In March 2009, the Prophet Wizard system was upgraded to a NexGen Digital Automation system.
