Deekin

Deekin Scalesinger is a fictional character in the game Neverwinter Nights.

Description

Deekin is a kobold bard and is obsessed with the main character. Deekin refers to himself in 3rd-person and is always writing in a book and will even ask the player: "Deekin pencil you in as sidekick maybe? Or how about Deekin's devoted fan?" He is afraid of dragons because, although he is part dragon, his last "boss" was a white dragon; white dragons like to reprimand their underlings until they are dead.

Deekin makes appearances in both the first and second expansion packs.

Reception

Game Informer‍ '​s Kimberley Wallace comments: In the Neverwinter games, the best characters are really your friends that you play with, but this kobold bard is an exception. Most characters would annoy you if they talked in third person, but Deekin pulls it off. He's working on a book and often narrates what's going on around him, even fessing up to passing gas. Deekin refuses to partake in the typical kobold way of life; after all, who would want to be a generic monster?"^[1]
