Davide Zappacosta (born 11 June 1992) is an Italian footballer who plays for Atalanta as a right back.
Club career
Born in Sora, Lazio, Zappacosta joined hometown's Sora's youth setup in 1998, aged six, as a forward.[1] In 2008 he moved to neighbouring Isola Liri, appearing in Campionato Nazionale Dante Berretti under-20's,[2] and made his senior debuts for the side in the 2009–10 campaign.
In January 2011 he joined Atalanta in co-ownership deal,[3] and was assigned to the under-20's. He appeared during the pre-season with the main squad,[4][5] but was loaned to Avellino on 31 August 2011.[6]
Zappacosta was an ever-present figure for the club during his spell, being initially reconverted to a winger in his first season, and subsequently to right back in the following two. On 4 June 2014 he returned to Atalanta, signing a four-year deal.[7]
On 31 August 2014 Zappacosta made his Serie A debut, starting in a 0–0 home draw against Hellas Verona. A regular so far in the 2014 season, Atalanta announced on 19 December 2014 that they had bought the remaining 50% of his contract making him a full Atalanta player.[8] His first goal was the match against Fiorentina 8 February 2015 at 3: 2
International career
He made his debut with the Italy U-21 team on 5 September 2013, in a qualifier match against Belgium.
