David "Dave" Sampson (born 6 August 1944[2]) is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s, '70s and '80s, and coach of the 1980s and '90s, playing at club level for Wakefield Trinity, Bramley, and Castleford,[3] and coaching at club level for Castleford, Doncaster, and Nottingham City.[4]

Genealogical information

David Sampson is the father of the rugby league footballer Dean Sampson, brother of the rugby league footballer Malcolm Sampson, and uncle of the sprinter Denise Ramsden, and rugby union and rugby league footballer Paul Sampson.
