David Raya Martin (born 15 September 1995) is an Spanish professional footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper for Blackburn Rovers.
Career
In the summer of 2012 he signed for Blackburn Rovers from Barcelona based club UE Cornellà.[1] His good progress throughout the club's academy led Raya earning his first professional contract with the club on 26 February 2014.[2] Raya was then given thirty-three shirt ahead of the 2014-15 season.[3]
In September 2014 he signed for Southport on a months loan which was subsequently extended,[4] he played a role in the clubs cup run in the FA Cup which they eventually got knocked out by Derby County in the 3rd round.[5] After four months at the club, Raya made his return back to his parent club.[6]
In April 2015 he made his league debut for Blackburn Rovers starting in goal against Leeds United and kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win.[7] Manager Gary Bowyer praised Raya's performance, while Raya, himself, say his performance was good with a result and keeping a clean sheet.[8][9]
