David Ramsay Clendenin

David Ramsay Clendenin (June 24, 1830 March 5, 1895)[1] was an American Union brevet brigadier general during the period of the American Civil War. He served with the 8th Illinois Cavalry.[2]

He received his appointment as brevet brigadier general dated to February 20, 1865.[3] He retired in 1891 at the rank of colonel.[4]

Clendenin was one of 9 members of the military commission that tried and convicted the Lincoln conspirators.

He is buried at Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois.[5]
