David Michael Maurer (born April 17, 1977) is an American Television and Film Editor/Director.

He has worked on such shows as "Whale Wars", "Profiles From The Front Line", "American Idol:[1] The Search for a Superstar" (2002), and "The Apprentice". Mr. Maurer garnered 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 Emmy Award Nominations for his work on "The Apprentice" as well as a Cine Golden Eagle award for his work on the short film Blackmailing Santa. In addition to editing, Mr. Maurer has studied Meisner technique with film/television coach Andrew Benne and story with Hollywood guru Robert McKee.

Maurer also edited/directed a documentary titled "The Legacy of Dr. Seuss" for The Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose. He can be heard on the podcast "Project1982.com - FILMSCHOOL"
