David McGuinness ( born 18 July 1986) an Irish politician is a member of Fianna Fail, elected councillor on the 5th of June, 2009, becoming the party's youngest councillor in Ireland, at 22 years of age.[1][2]

Biography

McGuinness was born and raised in Sheephill Park, Corduff, Blanchardstown. His schooling started at St Patricks primary school, Corduff while progressing to second level education at Riversdale community college. McGuinness graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an Honors Bachelor Degree in Music, Education and History.[3][4][5][6] Having become Fianna Fáil's Youngest County Councillor in Ireland, on being elected to Fingal County Council in June 2009 for the Mulhuddart Local Electoral Area;[7] McGuinness subsequently Ran on a two-person ticket in the general election of February, 2011 with the late Brian Lenihan, which helped secure Fianna Fáils only seat in Dublin that year.[8] David was selected the following October by Fianna Fáil Dublin West, to contest the By Election caused by the death of his colleague Brian Lenihan TD.[9] At 25 years of age, David contested the Dubiln by-election, 27 October 2011. Representing Fianna Fáil, McGuinness received 21.7% of the first preference vote (7,742 votes), and ultimately finishing second, whilst increasing his parties support from the Dublin West election by 5 percentage points.[10]
