David Boyd (born March 7, 1951) is a Canadian children's and YA author residing in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He is a retired English and Media teacher at Appleby College. Boyd also writes historical fiction for adults as D.K.R. Boyd. Volume One of his World War Two-era historical fiction series titled "The Reflecting Man," was published in July 2013; Volume Two is published on April 1, 2015. Volume Three is slated for April 2017. As a playwright, Boyd adapted Shakespeare's Macbeth to create Macbeth: A Multimedia Event (1995) and Julius Caesar to create Caesar: A Multimedia Event (2005). In 1996, his Young Adult novel Bottom Drawer was nominated for a Governor General's Award. His series of sports poetry for children begins with the publication of "My Mom Always Yells Too Loud in the Arena and Other Poems about Hockey" in 2013. He also writes dystopian fiction — The Grief Team—under the pseudonym of David Collins.
