David Becker is a Grammy nominated[1] American, guitarist, composer and producer, leader of the David Becker Tribune (DBT). He is also a graduate of the Musicians Institute.[2] He began music on the trumpet [3] and switched to guitar at 15.
David Becker Tribune
David and his brother Bruce (drummer) formed the DBT and toured Germany in 1984.[4] After touring the colleges that same year, the band was[5] later signed to MCA. The DBT released their debut album Long Peter Madsen[6] in 1986. In 1988, Siberian Express MCA was released and reached #3 on R&R and the track “Anja” reached #1.[7] In 2000, the DBT recorded Germerica.[8] A solo venture, Euroland, and a duo with jazz guitarist Joe Diorio,[9] The Color of Sound (Acoustic Music Records), followed in 2005.
Batavia[10] was released world wide on August 6, 2010, to coincide with 65th anniversary of the dropping of the Atom bomb in Japan. All the compositions on this recording have been directly influenced by or written about the experiences of Becker's mother’s (who is Dutch) family in Indonesia and their internment in a Japanese concentration camp during World War II. Batavia was voted as one of the Best World Music recordings of 2010 by World Music Central.org.[11] 2013 saw the release of “Distance Traveled"[12] which reached #18 on the CMJ charts.[13]

Becker also appears on the Colbie Caillat album, Breakthrough[14] as well as her album All of You. He also produced an Attila Zoller tribute album due out in early 2015[15]
