Dave's Picks Volume 8 is a three-CD live album by the rock band the Grateful Dead. It contains the complete concert from November 30, 1980, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. It was produced as a limited edition of 13,000 numbered copies, and was released on November 1, 2013.[1][2]
This album is the first official Grateful Dead matrix recording, which digitally combines the soundboard audio with an audience recording of the concert.[3] It is also the first of the Dave's Picks series of albums to feature Brent Mydland on keyboards.
The album liner notes were written by Nick Paumgarten.[4] In a November 2012 article in The New Yorker about the vast recorded legacy of the Grateful Dead, Paumgarten had written about an audience recording of this concert.[5]
