Data Recovery Wizard is a file recovery utility for Microsoft Windows, developed by EaseUS.[1] It is used to recover lost files from storage device, in the FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS, Ext2, Ext3 file systems. The knowledge of common file structures, information contained in file header and footer is used to scan and assemble the lost data.[2]
Operations
3 modes of operation are offered by Data Recovery Wizard to recover deleted files or files lost to system failures and/or human errors.
Deleted file recovery mode
It is used to recover the deleted files. When files have been deleted, they are marked by the operating system as free space and the data is still in the disk sectors until it is overwritten by new data. [3]
Complete recovery mode
This mode is used to recover the lost files from formatted volumes or corrupted partitions. After the partition is formatted or get corrupted, the root directory entries are erased or damaged. Via program algorithms, the file system is rebuilt and the lost data is located.[4]
Partition recovery mode
This is used to recover the lost files from unallocated space or changed partition structure.
