Darulfatwa - Islamic High Council of Australia
Darulfatwa - Islamic High Council of Australia was established in 2004 by the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects, Australia as an "independent and moderate, symbol of hope for Australian Muslims".[1][2] It is supportive of Sufism.[3]
Darulfatwa (also known as Darul-Fatwa or House of Fatwa) provides Fatwas and is associated with a number of Australian Islamic organisations and Muslim schools.[4]
Darulfatwa - Islamic High Council of Australia has been congratulated within the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for its role as the leading representative for Muslims in Australia.[5]
The role and place of the organisation has caused tensions within the Australian Muslim community[1] and it has been criticised by other Muslim Groups in regards to its Muslim Community Radio station and its links to Al-Ahbash.[6]
