Dario Dumić (born 30 January 1992) is a Danish professional footballer of Bosnian[1] descent who plays as a centre back for Brøndby IF.[2]
Playing career
Dumić started his career in the Roskilde based club Himmelev-Veddelev Boldklub along with FC Midtjylland striker Mads Hvilsom.
Dumić joined the club's academy at the start of the 2008–09 season having previously been signed with Hvidovre IF.
On 22 June 2008, Dumić signed a professional contract with the Canaries.[3] He has since been involved in a number of the club's pre-season friendlies in the lead up to the 2009/10 season. He made his first team debut for Norwich on 10 November 2009 in the Football League Trophy in an away game against Swindon Town which Norwich won on penalties.[4]
On 14 January 2010, he moved back to Denmark and Brøndby IF.[5] He made his debut for Brøndby on 23 August 2011 in an away game against Silkeborg IF.
International career
Dario played lots of games for Denmark on all levels, except senior. However, he openly expressed his wish to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina[6] on many occasions,[7] even for Danish sport channel,[8] which became real possibility as new Bosnia national team coach, Mehmed Baždarević, admittedly expressing great interest for young defender, and even reviled plan to visit Denmark, sometime between December 2014 and April 2015, to watch Dario playing and to speak with him face to face. But to get to the squad of Bosnian national team, however, Dario is constrained to administrative procedure at FIFA/UEFA of changing his sporting citizenship from Danish to Bosnian.
