Jacopo D'Amico, better known by his pseudonyms Dargen D'Amico, JD' or Corvo D'Argento (born in Milan, Italy, 2 June 1980), is an Italian singer and rapper.[1]

Career

Le Sacre Scuole

Born in Milan, at a young age D'Amico started to participate in freestyle rap challenges in Milan, under the pseudonym Corvo D'Argento (Silver Crow). In this period, D'Amico showed great skill in the use of the spoken word, that would continue to be refined over time through continued pursuit of sound and meaning. As a childhood friend and classmate of Guè Pequeno, he got to know Jake La Furia (later they would go on to create the hip hop group Club Dogo) and so Le Sacre Scuole trio was born, which in 2000 gave birth to the 3 Mc's al cubo EP.

Solo career

After the Sacre Scuole experience, Dargen D'Amico began a solo career, which saw him follow a personal and, in his own way, different style from the cliches of Italian hip hop, with a marriage between the experimental and the creative use of electronics and voltage and the classical Italian song, with the voice and rap using new expressiveness, and texts that were able to juggle the spectrum of moods, ranging from the poetic impulse to the non-trivial use of irony. The first result of this artistic choice was the album Musica senza musicisti self-published on Giada Mesi in 2006. In 2008 he published Di vizi di forma virtù, and in 2010 the double Cd D'. In 2011 he published the album CD and in collaboration with Nic Sarno he publishes Balerasteppin under the name of Macrobiotics. In 2012 Dargen D'Amico returned with a solo album: Nostalgia istantanea.

Macrobiotics

Along with Nic Sarno, legendary DJ from Milan, they published the album "Balerasteppin" that intended to create a new musical genre, named analogously to the album Balerasteppin, which reproduced the music and lyrics of songs of more or less famous Italian and foreign (from Fabrizio de André to Loredana Berte and Rustie to Samo Sound Boy), reinterpreted both instrumentally and vocally.
