Daniel Light (born 10 July 1948 in Chiswick) is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League as a forward.
Light began his career at Crystal Palace in 1965, making 22 appearances before being sold to Colchester United in 1968 for £4,000.[1][2] He was a regular player for Colchester, and made 73 appearances before moving to Guildford City on a free transfer in 1970.[2] He later played for Dartford, Dover, Wealdstone and Tonbridge Angels.[2] Whilst at Dartford, he was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 1973–74 FA Trophy.[2]
Shortly after Daniel worked as a sports teacher for 19 years and then became bar steward at the Woldingham Village Club for 20 years, in which he made a great impression with the local people. Whilst at the Woldingham Village Club, he managed a local football team, who won their division, the league cup and the Surrey cup.
Danny Light had five brothers and one sister, two children and four grandchildren, he was very close with his family.
He retired and moved to Turners Hill.
