Daniele Baselli (born 12 March 1992) is an Italian footballer who plays for Atalanta as a central midfielder.
Club career
Early career
Born in Brescia, Baselli joined Atalanta's youth system in 2000, aged 8. In the 2010 summer he was promoted to the club's Primavera team, appearing in 22 matches during the season and scoring five goals.
Cittadella
On 13 July 2011 Baselli was farmed to Serie B club A.S. Cittadella in co-ownership deal.[1] He made his debut for the club a month later, starting in a 1–2 loss at Fiorentina, for the season's Coppa Italia.[2]
Baselli made his Serie B debut on 27 August, starting in a 2–1 home success over AlbinoLeffe,[3] and finished the season with 13 appearances (ten starts, 827 minutes of action). He scored his first professional goal on 18 May 2013, netting the winner in a home win over Ascoli.[4]
Atalanta
On 20 June 2013, Baselli returned to Atalanta, after the Bergamo side bought the other half of the player's rights for €800,000, with Cittadella offering €50,000 less.[5] He signed a four-year deal with Atalanta, and made his debut for the club on 18 August, playing the last 17 minutes and assisting Giuseppe De Luca in the last goal of a 3–0 home win over Bari.[6]
On 1 September Baselli made his Serie A debut, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2–0 home success over Torino;[7] he was handed his first start in the main category of Italian football thirteen days later, in a 0–2 loss at Napoli.[8]
International career
Baselli represented Italy on under-18, under-19 and under-21 levels.
