Daniel Burke (born 2 May 1974 in Sydney) is an Australian rower who won a silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

He is also the winner of the prestigious Royal Henley Regatta 'Grand Challenge' in 1997 and again in 2000. One of only a few rowers in the challenges 173 year history to do so.

Growing up in the coastal town of Shoal Bay on the central coast of NSW. He showed promise as a young swimmer.

He was schooled as a boarder St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill where he took up rowing in his latter years with his senior rowing done from the Sydney Rowing Club and University of Sydney Boat Club.

He attended the University of Sydney where he obtained a Masters of Commerce in International Business and Marketing. He also holds a Bachelor of Education.

In 2002 Dan received a Sydney University Blue for the sport of Rowing. His Brother Michael also received a Blue in the same year for the sport of Boxing. A state and Australian amateur heavy weight representative.

After the 2000 Olympics games Burke turned his hand to Yacht racing. In 2003 he competed in the Rolex IMS maxi world championships in Capri Italy. He was a crew member aboard 'Bumblebee 5' finishing 5th.

His brother in-law Matthew Gray is a three time Olympic archer for Australia. His sister Kathleen is also is an Australian rower.
