Dane Chalfin

Dane Chalfin (born 1980) is one of the UK's leading contemporary vocal coaches working in music, theatre and television. His clients including many charting artists from nearly every major label. He is Principal Lecturer in Popular Music and a former two-term Director of the British Voice Association .

In 2010 Dane became the first ever contemporary vocal coach granted a permanent contract with the National Health Service as Vocal Rehabilitation Coach at University Hospital South Manchester, working with Sue Jones, Head of Speech, Voice and Swallowing; and Mr Phil Jones, Consultant Laryngologist. Their research into the vocal physiology of popular singing styles and assessing, diagnosing and rehabilitating injured non-classical singers has been presented internationally at conferences including PEVOC.

Dane is regularly invited to present his own work on vocal pedagogy at international conferences. His current research areas include primal sound and extreme voicing.
