Dane Brookes (born 16 April 1984) is a writer and actor. He founded Giant Leap Films in 2008, which has produced a series of successful films, including Profanity.
Film
As well as writing and directing Profanity, Dane Brookes starred alongside Leon Lopez (Brookside, Hollyoaks) and Scott Wright (Coronation Street, Shameless).
In Braincell, Dane played Carter, Dr Cornwall's (Joseph Zaso) loyal assistant, while Raine Brown stars as Hannah.
Braincell was shot in Liverpool, England, and Naples, Italy, by Zaso's Cinema Image Productions in association with Studio Mare Nostrum LLC and Cryptkeeper Films.
Producer, Joseph Zaso, first met Braincell director Alex Birrell when the latter served as cinematographer on Darkness Surrounds Roberta; also encoring from the movie is composer Marco Werba, who was since tapped by Dario Argento to score his latest feature Giallo. Braincell was released in the US and UK in 2010.
Dane has also starred in a number of short films, including Three Minutes to Go, Rules of the Game, Fieves, and LOL. Dane played PC Kane in LOL(2008), a series of short films (or "webisodes") by writer and director Ric Forster . Produced by Lime Pictures, LOL starred Bryony Seth and Nico Mirallegro .
Group Dane
In 2012, Dane formed Group Dane, a digital agency based in Liverpool, UK. The company specialises in web design and consultancy.
