Dancing Girls is a 2001[2] Chinese coming-of-age film directed by Li Ziyu.
Plot
The outgoing Ye Hong (Luo Haiqiong) and introverted Xiaomi (Han Xiao) are female dancers training in the state-owned art troupe. The two innocent girls are roommates in the dormitory, best friends, and daydream of finding love. Ye Hong and her dancing partner Yaming (Mao Huafeng) had been close friends since they were young children, but she considers him just a regular friend to his dismay. Xiaomi, however, has a secret crush on him. Ye Hong becomes fascinated with Shen Fang (Lu Jianmin), an older and eccentric painter who just lost his girlfriend to another man. Things happen one after another allowing the young people to discover their true destinies.
Awards
In January 2002, it won "Seahorse Awards" for a Feature Film at the Moondance International Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado, USA.[3]
