The Dallas Desire are a professional women's American football team located in Dallas, Texas. While active, they were one of five teams of the Lingerie Football League's Western Division. The Desire was one of two teams introduced to LFL in 2004, the other being the Los Angeles Temptation.[1][2] As of the 2011-2012 season, they were placed on hiatus.
Before league play
Having been defeated by the Los Angeles Temptation in the Western Final (one of the semi-finals which included a Skill Test, a 3-on-2 match, and a dance competition) with a score of 36-68 at Lingerie Bowl II in 2005 and again at Lingerie Bowl III in 2006, the team never reached the Final before regular league play began in 2009.
League play
2009-2010 season
For the 2009-2010 season, each team was scheduled to play the other four teams in its division once.[3] Two of the games were at home and two were on the road.[4] The team played its home games at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. Their head coach was former NFL player Antuan Edwards.[5][6]
The Dallas Desire began regular league play on September 25, 2009 with a home game against the Denver Dream.[5][7][8] Their other home game was against the Los Angeles Temptation while they played the San Diego Seduction and Seattle Mist on the road. They ended the regular season 3-1, qualifying for the Western Conference Championship game, where they lost to the Los Angeles Temptation 20-14.[9]

2010-2011 season
The 2010-2011 season of LFL had the same format as the 2009-10 season The Dallas Desire moved to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, the highest-capacity stadium (92,100 seats) for any professional American football team, for their home games.[14][15] All of this season's games aired on MTV2.[16] Dallas went 0-3 in the season and the last game against the Seattle Mist at home was cancelled due to inclement weather.[17]
In both seasons, the Dallas Desire were one of two active LFL teams to play their home games on an outdoor stadium (the others being the Denver Dream in 2009 and the Miami Caliente in 2010).

2011-2012 season
On March 17, 2011, the LFL announced that the Dallas Desire franchise would be suspended for the 2011-2012 season with a planned return in 2012-2013. The stated reasons were financial and issues with the "commitment" of players, both on and off the field.
2012–present
In early April 2011 the Dallas Desire held open try-outs in Dallas for newcomers and veteran players. The team was expected to play for the 2012 season; however, in January 2012, assistant coach of Dallas Desire, Clarence LeBlanc released an official announcement to the players that "Dallas Desire would be discontinued as a team but are looking to relocate to Austin, Texas." As of June 2013, this move has yet to take place.
