Dalia Muhammad Ahmad El-Gebaly (Arabic: داليا محمد احمد الجبالي; born 26 March 1992) is an Egyptian synchronized swimmer who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics.[1]

Personal life

El-Gebaly was born Dalia Muhammad Ahmad El-Gebaly in Cairo, Al-Qahira, Egypt. As of 2012, El-Gebaly is 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in) tall and weighs 64 kg (141 lb). She is studying Finance at the University of Cairo.

Synchronised Swimming

El-Gebaly is a synchronised swimmer,[1] who swims for the Shooting Club in Al-Jizah, Egypt. She is coached by Lamia Mokhtar. Her personal best finishes were at the Comen Cup, in 2006 and 2007, when she came 2nd in Figures.

In 2008, El-Gebaly made her Olympic debut at just 16 years old.[1] El-Gebaly and partner Reem Abdalazem competed in Duet at the Olympic Games, coming 24th. She also participated in Team, coming 8th.

In 2009, El-Gebaly and Shaza Yehia (Shaza Abdelrahman) competed in Thematic Duet at the FINA Synchro World Trophy. Their routine was Arabic-inspired and they wore golden costumes with blue designs on them. The duet placed 10th with a score of 85.000.[1]

In 2011, El-Gebaly and Abdalazem participated in the 2011 FINA World Championships in synchronised swimming. In the Technical Duet, El-Gebaly placed 28th with a score of 75.600, and in the Free Duet placed 30th with a score of 76.040, not advancing to the final. El-Gebaly and Abdalazem also participated in Team. In Technical Team, the Egyptians came 17th with a score of 77.100, and in Free Team came 15th with a score of 78.200.

In 2012, El-Gebaly and new partner competed in Duet at the Olympic Games, again coming 24th. El-Gebaly was involved in the Team event as well. She came 7th in Team, which is so far Egypt's best ever result.[1]
